Operation Christmas Child
Thank you to all who helped make Operation Christmas Child 2011 a success! Mrs. Heather’s class worked really hard and wrapped all of the boxes that we sent, and every child at Kids Place on November 9 was able to pack & send a box (if they weren’t here, we packed one for them). Each child started by writing a letter to the child that would receive their box telling them about God’s love. When they were done with their letter, we packed the boxes. The kids were able to go through one of our “stores” & fill their shoe boxes with different items. After every box was packed, we prayed over them in the sanctuary. We all held hands in a circle, and those who wanted to said a prayer. It was very powerful! We ended up packing 110 boxes. 15 of those were tagged so that we can track where they are shipped to—we will let you know as soon as we find out! Thank you again for helping us give the children at Kids Place such a powerful message at Christmas time—”We must remember the words of the Lord Jesus. He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive’”. (Acts 20:35)
Parents Night Out
Please mark your calendars for our annual Parents Night Out on Tuesday, December 20. This is our Christmas gift to you—a night without the kids! This is free for anyone who attends Kids Place, but there will be a $5 fee for siblings that do not go to Kids Place. We will provide dinner & Christmas-themed activities until 8 pm that night. The sign up sheet is at the front desk, so be sure to sign up ASAP if would like your child(ren) to attend!
December Clubs
Our December clubs (Wednesdays) will be Ornament, Glow in the Dark, Christmas Cooking, Hot Chocolate, and Science. Mr. Kane’s class will be doing puppets.
Colors of Christmas
A Christmas tradition the past several years at Kids Place is to have our own “Festival of Trees”—each class gets their own tree in the fellowship hall to decorate according to our theme. This year our theme is “The Colors of Christmas”. The classes have been given a symbolic color to decorate their tree with. They will be making ornaments & decorations for their tree in order to showcase their color. To go along with this, every Thursday through December each class will visit a different teacher to learn about each different color & what it means. The class colors are as follows: Miss Brooke (K)-gold & silver, Mrs. Natalie (1st)-blue, Miss Jenni (2nd/3rd)-white & yellow, Mrs. Devan (2nd/3rd)-green, Mr. Kane (4th/5th)-purple, Mrs. Heather (4th/5th)-white & red.
Dress for the Weather
Please be sure that you dress your child appropriately for the weather. Although we have had some nice days outside for November, we are starting to have some cold, wintery days. We try our best to get outside everyday for a little while if the weather is not too bad, so make sure your child has a winter coat, hat/gloves, & appropriate shoes.
*Please note that if the school lets out early due to weather, we will open early. However, if the school is closed for the day, we will not be open.
Upcoming Dates
-12/21: Early dismissal, 1:45, KP opens early
-12/22-1/3: No school/no KP

Just A Reminder...
We would like to remind you that if your child is sent home sick from Kid’s Place (fever, vomiting, diarrhea, etc.) it is our policy that they do not return until they are illness free for 24 hours. This is to ensure that the illness is not passed on to our other children & staff members. We really appreciate your cooperation with this!
