High Beams
"All Things Are Possible" is this year's theme for our oldest campers. Think BIG!! The sky is the limit this summer because God has great things planned for this year's High Beams. Anything is possible--He said so!! Each week we will learn about a different person from the bible who thought that God's requests of them were IMPOSSIBLE. God showed them ALL that nothing is impossible with His help.
"I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength."
-Philippians 4:13
The "High Beams" concept means that the oldest children at camp will be at most times separated from the Kindergarten-3rd graders. This enables the "high beams" track to participate in longer and more involved field trips and activities. Field trips for the High Beams will normally be on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, with a few exceptions. Please go to the "downloads" page to see a field trip schedule.
Daily activities
High Beam campers can except lots of choices throughout the summer. Daily choices will include tech time (devoted to computers, camperas, newsletter development, and occasional gaming), skits, problem solving games, reading, sports, crafts, "helping" activities, water games, and lots more!
Field Trips
Each week at Camp Sonshine is themed and field trips will coordinate with the themes. Swimming and roller skating are some of the more popular field trips, but we will also participate in bowling, miniature golfing, Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum, Senior Dinner prep, Movies, New Salem, and the St. Louis City Museum. These field trips are all included in your camp tuition. (Field trips are subject to change due to varying circumstances. Any changes will be listed on the white board and/or weekly newsletters).
